Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Law

Employees of the child care center are required by law to report any suspected child abuse or neglect to Child Protective Services. In doing so they have civil immunity under the law for good faith reporting. Failure to report can result in a gross misdemeanor charge. Our staff has undergone extensive training to recognize abuse or neglect situations and works in conjunction with the administration to determine if abuse has occurred. (WAC 388-295-6040)
